SecurityAt Salisbury Street the security of the children in our care is paramount. CCTV cameras, electronic security doors and secure access to the premises ensures that there is no unauthorised access to the nursery or its grounds at any time. Accident Prevention, Health & Safety. We understand that from time to time children have accidents. All accidents will be recorded by the member of staff who witnesses them. Parents will always be informed about the accident, shown the record and asked to counter sign the record.
In order to minimise accidents regular risk assessments are conducted both inside and outside the Salisbury Street premises.
SALISBURY STREET NURSERY OPERATES A NO SMOKING POLICY. Illness Salisbury Street have a realistic attitude to the needs of working parents. We do however request that parents do not bring their child to nursery if they are suffering from any infectious diseases, including sickness & diarrhoea or are not well enough to attend nursery.
If a child becomes unwell during nursery hours, we will contact the parent/carer to request you collect your child, ensuring the best possible care.
Parents are requested to inform the nursery immediately should their child contact any childhood illness or disease. Any illness which may prove to be dangerous to staff or other children must also be reported.
At least two members of staff are fully trained and certified to administer first aid. There will always be at least one member of staff on duty who holds a relevant first-aid qualification.
Prescribed Medication can only be administered with prior written consent. Any medication administered will be recorded, noting the date, time, name of child, medication and dosage. The Nursery Officers will administer the medication and will be observed by another member of staff.
All medications are stored in the staff room and not accessible to the children. Child Protection As a registered provider of day care we have a moral and legal responsibility to contact social services/child protection should we have any concerns regarding a child's welfare or protection. |
